Kubat Celebration Part Two

Updated: Sep 14, 2021

Last week I shared with you Part One of our wonderful Kubat Celebration! If you'd like to read Part One, follow this link. I can't wait to share Part Two with you today!

As a recap, my parent's wedding anniversary and my dad's birthday are just two days apart. I have dubbed this weekend: the big Kubat Celebration! This year, my parents celebrated 38 incredible years of being married and we celebrated a big birthday for my dad!!

A good trip to California ALWAYS includes the ocean for me. The ocean and the beach are my happy places. There is something so calming for me walking along the shore and feeling the salty air on my skin as I sit and enjoy the view! And holy cow does California have some BEAUTIFUL views!!

We spent the second day of Kubat Celebrations in Newport Beach. Newport Beach has a rich history dating back to the 1500s with Spanish settlers. It wasn't until the Pacific Electric Railway that Newport Beach was solidified as a tourist destination.

My parents had the wonderful idea to rent a Duffy Boat and spend a morning on the water. For those landlubbers out there, a Duffy Boat is an electric boat made for cruising around harbors. As Duffy's website says, "It’s not about going fast or going far – it’s about spending time with your friends and family while you cruise silently and enjoy what’s most important to you".

So that's exactly what we did! And we made a new friend along the way! We named him Shabby Thesealion :).

After we returned the Duffy Boat, we drove past Heisler Park on our way home. The color of this water is dreamy! I can't believe I got to call this place home for so long! It was so good to be home! I have missed my family so much! I'm so grateful for this amazing time we were able to spend together creating memories and laughing!

These people right here are some of the best you could ever meet! So grateful to know and love them!

What are some of your favorite things to do together as a family to celebrate?

Here are resources for the places or companies mentioned in this post:
