What does a really good weekend look like for you?
Mine consists of family, friends, fun, ocean, and celebrating loved ones! This last weekend fulfilled all of those and it was glorious!!
Every July, we have a Kubat Celebration! My parent's wedding anniversary and my dad's birthday are just two days apart. I have dubbed this weekend: the big Kubat Celebration! This year, my parents celebrated 38 incredible years of being married and we celebrated a big birthday for my dad!!
So it was a little bit of an adventure getting out to visit them on Thursday afternoon/evening. Has anyone else noticed longer travel times (when driving) now that most places are opening back up? We had a great drive and were kept safe, but what should have been a 5.5 hour drive turned into a 7.5 hour drive!
Once we got to my parent's house, we had the best time! We had planned some really fun things and I am so excited to share them with you!
We all took Friday off (and slept in!) so we could officially celebrate my parent's anniversary together. My parents had the amazing opportunity to see the Immersive Van Gogh Experience when they were in Paris in 2019 (yes, the same exhibit as seen in Emily in Paris!). The experience has recently opened in Anaheim at the Anaheim Convention Center and my parents really wanted to experience it with all of us!
Full confession time: I broke down in tears when I saw Van Gogh self-portraits in person for the first time ... so I guess you could say I appreciate his art! I love his use of color. At the exhibit, a quote was posted by Theo (Vincent's brother) which mentioned that color is a language - it helps people communicate, feel, and show others their world. I felt this on a deep level as I became part of the art in this experience. I would definitely recommend this experience for date nights, family outings, and girls outings. Take a look for yourself at the amazing world that you get to see through Vincent's eyes!
